Roasted Coffee Bean Oil

Our Coffee Bean Oil is a highly aromatic vegetal oil with a strong, rich aroma of dark roasted coffee. It is fatty acid-rich, with substantial percentages of Linoleic, Palmitic, and Oleic acids, making it a beneficial addition to mature skin care formulations. Coffee Bean Oil also contains a small amount of caffeine, an alkaloid with centrally stimulating effects, making it desirable for inclusion in energizing massage oils.1 However, if you are highly sensitive to coffee, or have an allergy to it, we recommend avoiding use of this oil.
Traditional and sacred uses of Coffea arabica include anointments with aphrodisiac effects, especially when paired with Cardamom and Honey (or Beeswax).2 It is considered a safe, nontoxic and non-irritating oil for use in cosmetics and skin care formulations; it could also be used as part of the carrier for oil-based natural perfumes.
Blending Suggestions: Our Coffee Bean Oil is an aromatic vegetal oil, and depending on the type of product you are formulating, you can use between 2% to 30%. For a massage oil, we suggest a median range, combining between 5% and 10% Coffee Bean Oil with another carrier oil, or a combination of other carrier oils, such as Sunflower Oil – Organic, Jojoba Oil, Golden – Organic, or Fractionated Coconut Oil – Organic.
Solubility: Soluble in fixed oils, not soluble in alcohol.
Appearance: Dark brown opaque, slightly viscous liquid. This product may contain some sediment – shake well before use.
Aroma: Strong, rich aroma of dark roasted coffee.
Safety Considerations: None known. Contains a small amount of caffeine – if you are highly sensitive to coffee, or have an allergy to it, we recommend avoiding use of this oil. Dilute before using. A patch test should be performed before use for those with sensitive skin.
