Description
Soy Wax Flakes
Soy wax is a vegetable wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated.
The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated. This process dramatically alters the melting point of the oil, making it a solid at room temperature. The leftover bean husks are commonly used as animal feed.
The U.S. grows the vast majority of the world’s soy beans, primarily in Illinois, Iowa, and Indiana.
How is it used?
Soy wax is used by candle makers in a number of ways. It can be used straight as in  415 soy wax, blended with other natural oils like Ecosoya CB 135 or Advanced Soy, or mixed with paraffin to form a parasoy wax like IGI 6006
A pure soy wax that contains no additives and is both natural and kosher.
Soy wax 415 – Has a higher melt point which enables it to retain a higher FO (fragrance oil) load to give you a stronger scent throw while allowing you to pour at a cooler temperature. Great for container candles. Not suitable for moulds.
Application
Massage wax/cream, massage oil candle.
Container candles, scented candles, melts or tarts
415 soy wax requires a lot of experimentation and patience to achieve the desired results. Not advisable for beginners
Pour Temp: 32-38
Melt Point: 49-52
FO Load: 7%-9%
You can also use Soy wax 415 to make an extremely pure votive/tart wax. Just add 5-10% of beeswax.
If used for Pillar candles, we suggest to blend soy wax with other higher melting point waxes, e.g. beeswax, paraffin ax, palm wax, to help the pillars stand by itself.

I decided to order this product to make my own natural soy wax candles.
It is really easy to do! You can buy the wicks online and place it in the middle of a container of your choice (tin or glass)You just melt the flakes using the double boiler method add your favorite fragrance oil or essential oil and then pour it in the container. Let it stand still on a table until it hardens. Voila’ your own candle!
