SilCare® Silicone SEA is a high molecular weight, hydrophilicly modified, self-emusifing aminosiloxane with good pH-stability over a broad range and low viscosity. Due to its low viscosity SilCare® Silicone SEA is very easy to handle also in production scale.
SilCare® Silicone SEA is miscible in every ration with water at room temperature. Clear alcoholic solutions can also be prepared. The solubility in ethanol is about 2%, in Isopropanol about 10%. With certain oils like Isopropylpalmitate or Dicaprylylcarbonate clear oil-solutions are possible. In other oil phases SilCare® Silicone SEA is readily disperable in every ratio.
Application in Hair Care
Clear conditioning shampoos, conditioners and color protecting shampoos are possible. Also hair tip fluids, cream rinses or hair gels can be formulated and also the formulation with actives or antidandruff agents is possible. With pearlizing agents in pearlescent shampoos SilCare® Silicone SEA shows a good compatibility.
SilCare® Silicone SEA is recommended in Hair Care formulations as proven conditioning and color protecting additive. The gloss and brightness will be enhanced with SilCare® Silicone SEA significantly.
Application in Skin Care
Possible formulations with SilCare® Silicone SEA for Skin Care are e.g. every kind of emulsions (O/W, W/O, Triple emuslions) or Crème gels. But also perfume sprays (microemulsions) or antiperspirant formulations can be prepared easily.
In Skin Care formulations SilCare® Silicone SEA shows very interesting sensoric properties. A very smooth and silky feeling is observed after treatment with SilCare® Silicone SEA.
In formulations with high perfume content the stickiness of the formulation is reduced significantly. This stickiness reduction can also be observed in antiperspirant or deodorant applications.
Depending on the application field, usage concentrations between 0.5 and 2 % of the final formulation are recommended.
SilCare® Silicone SEA must be stored in tightly closed original containers. Under these conditions it has good storage stability.
